My wife, I, and another couple went on a long walk yesterday on a nature trail. We found an area in the woods on a hillside that contained perhaps two dozen of these Red Trillium...
a member of the Lily family... it is also know as Wake Robin,
and more rarely, as Stinking Benjamin. I am sure there are other common names as well.
