"There's a story I must tell you
Not to many knows how it goes
It began upon first Chistmas night
It's the legend of the Christmas Rose.
Well, it was a long, long time ago
And from the East there came three Wise Men
Bearing gifts they'd brought from afar
They had traveled for a long, long way
With their guiding light a brilliant star.
And in the distant stood a little shepherd girl
Who's eyes were sad, for she had no gift to offer to the child
And as her tears fell to the ground
White roses started growing there
And when she placed them by the babe in the manger
It seemed He smiled.
As his fingers touched the pedal
A pale shade of pink there appeared
Just at Christmas time this flower grows
That the legend of the Christmas Rose."
