our spirit...

My wife and I ate at a small
restaurant/cafe recently for lunch.

We had a corner table and above us
to the rear, in one corner,
this scene was resting on a platform.

When I go anywhere, I pay attention
to everything I see... I look
at images on the wall, people I see,
practically everything.
Call it an artist curse, but I
like to be sensitive to my surroundings.

And what I see, I see with my spirit...
that part of me that sees things
with my heart, my values, my beliefs.

This image brings to mind that our country
was built on the values of hard work,
simple lifestyle, integrity, and unity of purpose.

I pray those values will remain
in the hearts and minds of
all of us.
