in our weakness

The cat on the lap is Kokomo.
Up until a few weeks ago
he would never jump up on your lap
let alone become so at peace there.

Ever since he had kneecap surgery
when he was just a kitten,
unstable, soft surfaces like a lap
were off-limits for him.

The surgery was several years ago.

If a cat can change its habits,
guided by our gentle spirit… overcoming fear,
so dramatically… so we too can change
our repetitive habits
with the help of the Holy Spirit.
