Every year my wife makes this glorious, heavenly
orange coffee ring for Christmas morning.
It is a tasty tradition worth keeping
as long as one does not indulge too much at one sitting.
Tradition can be a "good" thing.
What we must be aware of and very carefully consider
is not allowing tradition to keep us in bondage
to false doctrine and empty ceremonies.
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live in him,
rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught,
and overflowing with thankfulness.
See to it that no one takes you captive
through hollow and deceptive philosophy,
which depends on human tradition
and the basic principles of this world
rather than on Christ."
