too small to be made into a burden

When the sky gets dark, and the storm comes with its rain

the tree branch becomes so burdened and heavy laden

with water that it bends down to the ground.

But when the sun comes out,

as it always does,

the water evaporates and the branch once more

reaches up toward the light.
